  1. I feel that i wish that i could be older now so that i could be finsihed with high school. I feel that the best age to be would probably be in the early twenties because you would both have your life together and you would be truly treated like an adult -Theo Gevirtz

  2. I felt like I wanted to be older in elementary school because I had thought being older had been way cooler. I also wanted to learn more about things that had actually interested me, instead of the stuff they had taught us then, and move onto more stuff. Ocasionally I still feel as though I want to be older, but I think the best age is really the age you want to act like, weather its oler, younger, or the age you really are.

  3. I felt like i wanted to be older when i went into high school. I saw how much freedom all the older kids got i said i wish i could do that know. But i think the best age to be is your early 20's because u are legally allowed to do want u want and u have more freedom because u are considered an adult. When your an adult u get more freedom because you are making your own choices for your self.

  4. I sometimes wish that i was at least 22, then your parents won't nag you about homework that you've already completed. Also learning is fun and all but sometimes i'd think it would be nice to just have your life basically together and only have to worry about your job and all the other stuff you gotta worry about as an adult. I especially would love to have a to have a job that i would be happy with for the rest of life. The unneeded nagging is what ticks me off, thus i think the proper age to be is 22 or early 20's.

  5. If I want to go to a friend's house or out somewhere, I usually need a ride. In instances where I can't take the train, walk, or don't have a ride, I wish that I was older than what I am. I dont like having to rely on someone else what time to leave and be picked up. Its frustrating to feel that the only reason you can't be where you want to be is because you can't drive. I think that the best age to be is probably around 18 because then people start treating you like an adult and you can drive wherever you'd like, at whatever time

  6. Like most kids, I used to marvel at the freedom and joy that came along with being an adult. When my parents used to go out for dinner or to see a movie while my brother and I stayed home with the babysitter, I remember thinking to myself, ‘it must be so cool to be older.’ I wanted to be able to drive, eat what I wanted, and overall, have the freedom to do exactly what I wanted. I, like most young children, was also extremely oblivious to the hard work and responsibility involved in being older. As the oldest child, I was never exposed to an older sibling cramming before tests and staying up for hours each night trying to get through homework. I believed throughout my childhood that the older you got, the less number of rules and responsibilities you had. Although I had little to complain about in my life when I was in preschool and elementary school, I always wished I was older. Even in recent years there have been times where I wish I was older. I still dream of the day that I’ll be able to drive, and I long for the opportunity to focus on my interests rather than sitting through nine classes a day. As for wanting to drive, there are more reasons behind it than just wanting to seem cool while listening to music and driving my car. Currently whenever I want to make plans with my friends, I have to ask my parents or someone else to drive me. This becomes inconvenient for both my parents, and for my friends parents who often wind up driving me home. Once I get my permit and license, I will no longer have to rely on these adults to get me from place to place. While I don't want to move on from high school, I am looking forward to beginning college because of the freedom it will provide me with. I will finally have the chance to choose a major and classes based on the type of person that I am, and I will have the ability to make a great deal of my own decisions. In my opinion, the best ages to be are from 18-21. During these years you have a pretty balanced amount of freedom and responsibility. Most people are still in college at these ages so although they have to focus on their studies and begin thinking about jobs for when they finish school, they are still students, therefore they are not completely on their own. Also, they can still have fun with their friends without feeling the pressure of a full time job, and they are given rights and are exposed to new experiences which so many people look forward to.

  7. I have been involved in many situations where I wished I was older than I actually was. I believe that until you hit the age 21, you are always going to dream of being older than you actually are. I remember in 5th grade, I would always try and pretend that I was in high school, I couldn't wait. Now that I'm in high school, I can't wait until I'm out of high school and at college. I also cannot wait until I turn 16 and can get my permit. Things like that are examples on how you always want to be one step higher than you are. At home, I remember being upset with my parents for letting my brother stay up an hour later than me just because he was older. That used to drive me crazy! I think we are all going to keep wanting things that you can only do when your older until you are 21. For me, 21 is when you are considered a true adult. And although you are given many responsibilities, you also receive a lot of freedom. After 21, I believe is when you start wishing for the opposite. For example, all parents do not wish to get older, but instead wish to be young again.

  8. When i was a kid i used to wish to be a grown up and be in a suit go to the city and do a job everyday. then you realize that you are almost a grown up and then you want to be a kid . it's a vicious cycle. Anyway the time i wished to be a grown up was when i was at an amusement park and because i was a kid i couldn't go into the haunted house and that of course crushed me because i saw all the other kids going in and the kids leaving saying "that was awesome." but now that i look back at times when i wanted to be a grown up i think to myself i wish i could go back and act like a child while i still was one. a prime example of this situation is /micheal Jackson he wasn't able to have a childhood and he tried to get it back and that brought him to court. a true tradgety.

  9. I wish i was older. An ideal age for me is early 20's because thats when you can do what you want when you want and not have anyone telling you what to do. People start to consider you an adult because of your age. And now that i think about it i say to my mom all the time i wish i was still in elementary school because those were the easiest days of my life. Being a young was very fun but i still wish i could be older no matter how easy being young is.

  10. I wish I could be older so that I could drive and be done with school. I think the best age to be is in the early 20's because I would be done or almost done with college and getting a job. Also I would have the freedom to do what I wanted because people would treat me like an adult. Although I would have to make hard and important decision about life at that age, I would rather be in the early 20's than any other age.

Throughout my life, I have always wished I were older than I actually was. For example, I can remember being in elementary school and playing house with my friends. I always chose 13 because I could not wait to be a teenager and have the freedom that I believed came hand in hand with being older. Once I turned 13, I realized it wasn’t really anything special and the enormous amounts of freedom never really came. I wanted more than anything to be in high school because I knew that then, I would definitely get the freedom I was looking forward too as well as the privileges. Now, I’m in my second year of high school and I long to be 17/18, because I believe that if you can drive, your possibilities are endless! Seeing my sister as a senior, going off to college and being able to drive herself places whenever she pleases makes me want to be old enough to drive and go to college. I feel as though my high expectations were always crushed when I finally got to my dream age, but I do believe that in my early 20s, I will be completely content with my age. I see the early 20s as the “best” age to be, because you are still young, can drive, are finally out of school and on your own, and you can vote, drink and do things without the consent of your parents.

  12. Through the positive and negative experiences of a child’s life they dream about being older. When I was in elementary school my life was easy and fun but I always wished I was a high schooler. I had always felt free to hang out with my best friends as I please and try the after school activities that interested me. I couldn’t have the privilege to make myself look older with make up or shopping for my own clothing as I pleased. From speaking with others the same age, it was clear that older children were looked up to and viewed as older, cooler role models. In kindergarten, fifth graders were the “coolest” kids in school and the most confident just as eighth graders are to sixth graders. As I grew older and reached being in high school I learned that growing older isn’t just a new privilege, it came with many responsibilities. As I entered my sophomore year of high school I began to realize it was not all the excitement I have dreamed of. I have been prepared well through middle school to ease me into the adaptation. Being in high school, or the age of 14 isn’t as special as it seems to be and started looking forward to becoming 20 to start college and driving. After talking to older friends and others of my age I can now appreciate the age I am now and to enjoy each year without the high expectations that might be a disappointment in the future with more pressure and responsibilities.

  13. I felt that I wanted to be older when people who were older than me got more freedom and privileges. A time I felt this way is when my older brother was always driving to places and going out whenever and coming back at the time he wanted, always made me mad. Seeing this all the time made me want to grow up faster but growing up and becoming an adult comes along with tons of responsibilities which will probably stress me out. I think the best age is to be is when I’m in my twenties because at that age, you can drive and I would have much more freedom then I do now.

  14. There are many times in my life when i wished i was a different age. When i was younger I use to love all the freedom I had and the fact that i never had to do work and had all the time in the world. Even then I couldn't wait to get older and go to the middle school. Then once i got to the middle school i couldn't wait to be a high schooler. Now that im a high schooler i love it but i sometimes wish that i was little kid again and could do anything i wanted.Yet at the same time there are so many times when i want to be older. For example, when I don't have rides somewhere I wish i was 16. I cant wait to became 16 and be able to drive myself around. The age that i really want to be is 21. I think this would be the best age because you are allowed to do more thinks and you have more opportunities with what to do with your life. Also, you have more freedom and independence.

  15. There are times in everyone’s lives when he or she wishes they were either older or younger than they actually are. The problem with this is that typically the young wish they were the old, and the old wish they were the young again! I wished I were older than I really was one time mostly because my age was holding me back from doing something I really had wanted to do. My family and I had gone to an amusement park and I insisted on going on one of the roller coasters. When I checked my height up to the requirement I was over the least amount. I was only four years old, but was tall for my age; I had the height of at least a six year old. After examining the ride my mom decided it was too fast and scary for me; and that when I got up to the highest point I’d be begging to come down. This irritated me so much, I was so determined to ride the roller coaster. I guess part of me wanted to be the “big girl” who could do anything she wanted to do (of course as I got older I realized that is not the reality of being a “big girl”). Looking back on the situation my mom was probably right about her decision in not allowing me to ride the roller coaster. Although I thought I was a big kid I was really only just a baby! I think the “best” age is a young one, because there is still the thrill of the unknown, but not too young because wisdom comes with age and experience. Being in ones late twenties or early thirties would be what I considered the “best” age to be. During these times there is still the possibility to completely change your life and go out on a limb, but one still has the knowledge to point him/herself in the right direction. I believe that at this age you aren’t determining your future, but you’re also not dwelling on the past.

  16. Throughout life kids tend to experience a time when they wish they were older. A time I felt that I wish I was older was when I wished I could drive. My parents cant always give me a ride if there bussy. So I wished I was at the age where I was old enough to have a full liscence. I could drive where ever and whenever I wanted to, I wouldn’t have to wait to find one.

  17. A time where I wish I was older...Plenty..But one time I remember distinctly. I wanted to be older...Was when my mom went to the hospital..She was ill and I knew it. I was 8. I wanted to be old enough so that the doctor would handle the fact that my mom had Stomach cancer, and I couldve seen her. Or the fact that I couldve been old enough to drive up there myslef. But I wasnt and everyday I was upset and scared for my mom. She survived it but there isnt a day go by that I dont remember it and cant wait till I am enough. The best possible age to be, in my opinion. Is 21. Not just to go tto clubs and drink and party. No, its because thats the beggining of adulthood. Where you truly are on your own, where decisions can be made. Where you have seperation by your authority. But i truly just think age is but a number. Its what you can out your mind to do and complete.
